AFTERCARE SIBLING DISCOUNT
We offer a 20% sibling discount on aftercare units for families enrolling more than one child. This discount is automatically applied when purchasing units for multiple children from the same household.
TUITION DEPOSIT
WSSL requires an annual, non-refundable, tuition deposit of $500 per student. A student's place in the class is not reserved for the following school year until the tuition deposit has been paid and the tuition and enrollment contract outlining the payment schedule is signed. The tuition deposit is applied in full toward tuition.
TUITION & ENROLLMENT CONTRACT
The tuition and enrollment contract is for the entirety of the school year and must be completed to reserve your child's spot.
WORKING TOGETHER TO SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL
Tuition alone does not fully cover the cost of a Waldorf education. Each year, we invite families to help bridge the gap between tuition revenue and the actual cost of educating each student.
Each parent/guardian is asked to volunteer 15 hours during the school year. These gifts of time and energy, along with financial support, help sustain the rich, holistic education that defines our school.
We also ask families to contribute 10% of their annual tuition through donations to our Annual Fund, attending or helping with fundraising events, and sharing these opportunities with others.
CLASS PLACEMENT FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD - PRESCHOOL & KINDERGARTEN
Class placement in our Early Childhood program is based on each child's developmental stage, not solely on age. Final placement will be determined after the completion of all steps outlined in the Admissions Process.
Discounts & Scholarship Opportunities
Sibling Discounts
Second Child (and Additional Siblings) receive a 20% tuition discount
Note: Siblings must be enrolled in 5 full-day programs
ACE
ACE Scholarships works with low-income families from a variety of different circumstances across numerous states. To qualify, a family must meet the income requirements for the federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program.
The Waldorf School of St. Louis is dedicated to economic diversity. Approximately 50% of WSSL families receive tuition assistance.
Tuition Assistance Policies
Tuition assistance is available for 3 full day, 5 half day, 5 full day, and homeschool enrichment students.
Applicants may request an additional review of their tuition assistance by contacting the WSSL Business Coordinator.
All tuition assistance awards are based on monetary need.
Families MUST reapply for tuition assistance each year with current financial and family information. Any assistance awarded applies only to the current academic year.
The deposit is not included in tuition assistance and must be paid in full.
Awards will be contingent upon having no existing outstanding balances due to The Waldorf School of St. Louis for tuition, fees, or other programs and credible payment history.
All information submitted to the Finance Committee will remain confidential, and your related tax records will be destroyed after review.
The Finance Committee tries to accommodate all requests within the budget the Board of Trustees allotted.
The Waldorf School of St. Louis values diversity among its students and parent body. All applications are reviewed without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, ethnicity, national origin, or sexual orientation.
Important note regarding divorced, separated, or never-married parents: It is the School’s position that both parents retain the obligation to contribute to the education of their child(ren), whether or not there is a legal agreement between them to do so. Therefore, the School considers the financial situation of both parents and requires that each complete and submit a Financial Aid Application, along with the appropriate tax forms and schedules.
Tuition Assistance Application
Note: The Tuition Assistance Application is due within 48 hours of turning the Admission’s Application. Please go to Step 2: Admissions Application to fill out the Admission Application, if you haven’t done so already.
